CommUnity Quilt Project Barnet

Barnet Unity Parade

Sunday 15th June

2pm

Meeting point Swan Lane Open Space, N20

The Community Quilt Project Barnet is a grassroots project by people from across the borough.Following the far right racist riots and attacks in August 2024, including threats to our own community here in Finchley, a group of us came together to make a patchwork quilt as a joyful and creative expression of unity. Hundreds of people have contributed a patch and we have ended up making three quilted banners! In solidarity with everyone impacted by the events of last year and to celebrate Barnet’s diversity, we will unveil our quilt banners by carrying them through our streets as a unified community. Join us and bring your friends and family! All welcome. Dresscode colourful.Community group and trade union banners welcome.

The route

We will parade from Swan Lane Open Space (N20 OLP), along the High Road and Ballards Lane, ending in Victoria Park (N3 2NH). If the weather is nice, consider bringing a picnic to enjoy in Victoria Park after the parade.
